What is TeachAg Belize?

TeachAg Belize is an embedded course at Penn State that includes an introductory immersion experience, allowing participants to explore formal and non-formal education about agriculture through indigenous populations with multi-lingual cultures.

Participants will learn more about the role of indigenous knowledge in agricultural education in the multi-cultural context offered by the country of Belize, through the help of our partners CELA Belize

Participants will…..

  • Investigate different program structures for engaging in education in agriculture in a non-US based location
  • Explore engagement of indigenous knowledge as a factor in effective agricultural education
  • Discuss effective strategies for engaging multi-lingual students and families in agricultural education programs

Applications Open: Now!

Application Close: November 15th, 2022

Successful Applicants Notified: November 18th, 2022

Embedded Course Begins: January 9th, 2023

Travel to Belize: March 5th-12th, 2023

Post Travel Presentation: April 3rd, 2023
